Kinfra International Apparel Parks Ltd. (KIAP) spans 95.83 acres of well-developed land and is easily accessible by road, rail, water, and air. The international transshipment port at Vizhinjam is nearby, with Cochin and Tuticorin equidistant from the Park. Additionally, the railway station and airport are in close proximity.
KIAP hosts over 106 units across various sectors, including garment manufacturing and laundry services, food processing, tools and machinery manufacturing, solar power products, aerospace automotive parts, e-commerce, furniture manufacturing, newspaper and periodicals printing, gas and air processing, ice cream manufacturing, Ayurvedic medicines and other drugs production and warehousing, building materials manufacturing, automotive components, swimming pool equipment, nanotechnology manufacturing, and heart valve manufacturing. The Park also supports Central and State PSUs and institutions such as the Central Warehousing Corporation, Kerala Medical Services Corporation Ltd., Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence, and the Apparel Training and Design Centre.
Many pioneering industries that have gained recognition in Kerala and beyond have established themselves in the Park. The transformation of the once sleepy seaside village of Thumba in Thiruvananthapuram has been remarkable. The majority of employees are women from nearby villages with limited formal education. Employment in the garment manufacturing units has provided many with a means to support their families. Currently, over 3,500 people from various parts of India are directly employed in the Park’s companies. These companies offer subsidized transportation for daily commuters, and the working women’s hostel within the Park can accommodate up to 500 residents, benefiting women employees from other regions of the country.
