Green Protocol Implementation at KINFRA Industrial Park , Thiruvananthapuram

Green Protocol, the new age waste management system has today been replicated from the idea postulated in international workshop on zero waste in Kovalam in 2000 and implemented across Kerala and has now become a movement. Accordingly Green Protocol has been implemented in the industrial park in Thiruvananthapuram, which is an initiative of first of its kind in Kerala.

Implementation of Green Protocol at KINFRA Industrial Park Thiruvananthapuram.

  • Initially – Green Village, an agency empanelled by the ‘Suchitwa Mission’ has been selected for implementation of this nodal program. But now the KIAP is doing the implementation, monitoring and control of Green Protocol.
  • A waste audit had conducted for collecting data about generation of different types of wastes, practices of management of waste, its disposal at industrial units inside the KINFRA Industrial Park.
  • Suggestions had made based on waste audit and recommended solutions for individual units for better waste management and disposal.
  • The implementation agency/KIAP, regularly monitor the compliance of green protocol norms and recommendations in the park and reports.
  • Monthly monitoring reports analyse the effectiveness of interventions for the implementation of Green Protocol.
  • Thus KINFRA Industrial Park, Thiruvananthapuram urges for a better tomorrow for a greener and safer earth.
